What “Doctor-Hosted” Means

Most short-term rentals hand you a door code and disappear.

Hi — I’m Enoch, a physician at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center. After three decades treating travelers, contractors, and folks new to the city in our emergency department and urgent care clinics, I built 1362 Shortridge to take care of the version of you that just stepped off a flight or finished a 12-hour shift and doesn’t want to figure out which grocery store is open.

The phone number you get at booking is my cell. The welcome video call on day one of a long stay is with me. The text reply at 9 PM is from me.

That’s “doctor-hosted.” It’s a service standard, not a marketing label.

Three Tiers of Care That Scale With How Long You Stay

We treat hosting like a clinic. Whatever you came for, we have a level of service built for it.

Tier 1 — 1 to 6 nights

Smart-lock self check-in with Ring doorbell. Gigabit fiber Wi-Fi (real fiber, not “up to” cable). Level 2 EV charging in the driveway, J1772 adapter included. An e-scooter in the backyard. A printed local guide updated quarterly. Same-day text reply during waking hours.

Tier 2 — 7 to 29 nights

Everything in Tier 1, plus: reservation help at Pesticos and Adega. Yosemite gate-keeping advice — which entrance, which day, which permit window. Curated hike recommendations matched to your fitness level. In-unit grocery and Amazon delivery handling. Mid-stay linen refresh. Produce drops from the garden when things are in season.

Tier 3 — 30+ nights

Everything in Tier 2, plus: weekly cleaning. A dedicated welcome video call with Enoch on day one. Monthly mail-and-package handling. Custom day-trip planning — Big Sur, Napa, Pacifica, Mt. Hamilton — we’ve test-driven all of them. Introductions to our personal trainer, dentist, and barber if you need them. The kind of low-friction extension flexibility you can only get from owner-operators.

About Enoch (Your Host)

I’m Enoch Choi. I’m a physician at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center, where I’ve practiced emergency and urgent care medicine for three decades. I treat the people who visit our city — travel clinicians, conference attendees, hospital fellows, family members of patients. The experience of landing somewhere new with no time to figure out the basics is one I’ve watched, and helped with, for a long time. 1362 Shortridge is what I built to do something about it.

My partner Heather enables the operations side day-to-day. The cleaning team is one I’ve worked with for years. The phone number you get at booking goes to my cell, and the welcome video call on day one of a long stay is with me.

If you’re a traveling clinician, a corporate visitor, a Yosemite-bound family, or a couple looking for a base camp to explore the South Bay — you’ll find me responsive, specific, and genuinely interested in helping you have a good stay.
