Hi — I’m Enoch Choi, MD. I’m an emergency and urgent-care physician at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center, and I personally host the two furnished rentals at 1362 Shortridge Avenue in San Jose’s Little Portugal neighborhood. NatalAid is my own small, doctor-run rental — not a management company. The phone number you get when you book is my cell.
Why doctor-hosted
After three decades of caring for patients, I run these rentals the way I’d want to be treated as a guest: clear communication, quick answers, and a home that’s genuinely ready when you arrive. You deal directly with me — same-day text replies during waking hours, and a day-one welcome video call so you always have a real person to reach if something comes up.
The space
There are two completely private units — a 2-bedroom ground-floor home (Unit A) and a 1-bedroom rear suite (Unit B) — bookable separately or together, with no connecting door between them. Both were refreshed in 2024 and come furnished, with gigabit fiber Wi-Fi and all utilities included. Guests share a quiet, securely fenced backyard and a basement washer and dryer, and there’s free Level 2 EV charging (J1772) in the driveway.
Built for longer stays
Mid-term stays of 30 days or more are our specialty. Longer stays include a mid-stay linen refresh, monthly mail handling, and flexible long-stay terms. Check-in is keyless and self-service — your door code arrives 48 hours before you land.
Who stays here
Travel nurses and allied-health professionals on 13-week assignments, summer AI/ML interns and tech contractors, families relocating to the South Bay, travelers basing in the city before heading to Yosemite, and guests who need comfortable insurance or post-displacement housing. We’re about 2 miles — roughly a 7-minute drive — from Regional Medical Center of San Jose; 10–12 minutes from O’Connor Hospital, Kaiser Santa Clara, and Santa Clara Valley Medical Center; 15 minutes from Mineta San José (SJC) airport; and a straight shot to NVIDIA, Apple, Google, Adobe, and Cisco.
